In 2000, a group of caring women health care providers began orgnizing Peregrine Hospice and Palliative Care, a non-profit organization, as an alternative program of comfort and care for he chronically and terminally ill and their families. Disappointed with their experiencs with other hospices, they wanted to create a compassionate service organization that would care for a patient's physical, social, and spiritual needs, thus caring fo the individual, not just the illness.
Peregrine Hospice and Pallitive Care is Medicare and Medi-Cal certified i California. The organization is also a member o the California Hospice and Palliative Care Association and the National Association for Home Care - Hospice Association of America.
