Comfort & Care
Our hospice aide assists with various personal care issues including changing bedding, changing clothing, bathing hospice patients and helping with hygienic routines such as brushing teeth, washing hair and keeping wounds and dressings cleaned.
We have clinical dietitians and nutritionists to provide medical nutrition therapy. They create nutritional programs based on the health needs of the patients and counsel patients and the family on how to a balance their meals.
Our Physical Therapists are sometimes the key to recovery for some patients who are recuperating from injuries, illnesses, and surgery. They work with patients to help them regain movement and manage pain.
For additional care if ordered we offer Occupational Therapy to help patients increase their functional independence in daily life while preventing or minimizing disability. Often OT is combined with other treatments including Physical Therapy.
Peregrine Hospice provides a Bereavement Counselor that can help gently guide relatives through the process offering support and explaining the formalities. We also have monthly Greif Support Meetings where we can provide individual and family counseling, share information about coping skills and to help them deal with the stress of mourning.
